Unboxing Britain
Unboxing Britain, commissioned by the British Council in the Netherlands and developed by affect lab, invites young people to engage with artworks from the British Council Collection as a way to explore intercultural dialogue—encouraging discussions about culture, identity, and the values that shape the world we share. At the heart of this commission is a bespoke workbook, designed by affect lab to serve as a guide for exploration.
This workbook features a series of carefully selected artworks as conversation starters, sparking discussions on themes of identity, belonging, and communication. Artists featured included Gabriella Sancisi, See Red Women's Workshop, Martin Maloney, Chris Ofili, Lubaina Himid and David Hockney. The workbook is more than just a tool—it’s an opportunity to pause, observe, and discuss.
