graphic design intern

affect lab offers a graphic design internship linked to our current projects.

Together with the affect lab team, you will participate in various manifestations of the affect lab projects.

We are looking for an intern with a background in, for example, interactive design, graphic design, spatial design, design research, media studies, social design, art & design, immersive storytelling or creative coding.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has graphic design experience

  • Is proficient in Adobe design software (coding and video editing is a plus)

  • Knows how to work independently

  • Has affinity with interactive art, creative coding, social design and design research

We offer:

  • Guidance by experienced and award-winning experts in design and design research

  • A workspace in the Broedplaats Volkshotel, Amsterdam

  • An internship of 3 - 4 days a week

  • An internship fee of between €300-€480 (based on 4 days a week, amount various based on bachelor / masters level)

  • A healthy lunch at the studio :)

Our next internship position will start in September 2024.

About affect lab

affect lab is an award winning research practice and creative studio. In collaboration with an international artistic network, we use design research, experimental field work and immersive storytelling to impact social change. As an intern you will work closely with Dr. Natalie Dixon, Klasien van de Zandschulp, Minnie Bates and Juliette Brederode.

To be eligible for this internship

  • You must live in Amsterdam or be willing to travel to our studio space in Amsterdam.

  • You need to have the right to work in the Netherlands for the duration of the internship (affect lab does not offer work visas).

  • affect lab internship offers are not conditional - i.e If you rely on Erasmus or other funding bodies to offer you a grant in order to be able to live and work in Amsterdam, affect lab is then unable to offer you an internship.
