Bloody Beautiful @Work is an inspiring toolkit for companies who want to ensure that menstruators and menopausal people can thrive in their work environment. It aims to create awareness and normalise conversions amongst leadership and teams about periods and menopause. Bloody Beautiful @Work uplifts interpersonal diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
The Bloody Beautiful @Work toolkit is designed to inspire and spark joyful participation from everyone (not just women!). At the heart of this toolkit are powerful storytelling, play and creativity to create lasting narratives and a shift in culture.

Workshop
Includes a custom-designed 'tarot-style' card deck, enabling participants to dream and curate future scenarios for menstruation and menopause-inclusive workplaces.

80% of them are suffering from symptoms.
50 % of people with symptoms are limited in their work capacity.
Only 3% can talk to their manager about menopause.
Menopause is a factor in resignation decisions due to lack of organizational support.
Menstruation
1.8 billion people globally have their period every month.
In the Netherlands €2.2 billion is lost in productivity due to menstruation and menopause conditions.
56% of women think that paid leave for menstruation symptoms is essential.
WHO ARE WE?
affect lab are creative change makers. For the past 4 years we have been building a more inclusive future for menstruators and people in menopause through public events and creative workshops. Storytelling and creative inspiration are at the heart of what we do. We believe the workplace is a key place for positive change in the narrative about health issues – where everyone can thrive if conversations about menstruation and menopause are normalised. affect lab is led by artists Dr. Natalie Dixon, Klasien van de Zandschulp and Juliette Brederode in collaboration with an international artistic network. affect lab launched the Bloody Beautiful movement in the Netherlands and in October 2025 we will launch the inaugural Bloody Beautiful Festival in Amsterdam.

Bursting with fun and designed to connect and entertain participants, these play events take the form of a live prompt battle using AI tools or a dance party in the metaverse.

Gossip Session
An in-company meet-up with a twist. Using gossip in the best way possible, these sessions provide a safe space to share knowledge about menopause and menstruation.
Menopause and menstruation is an inclusion and diversity call to action.
